Connfi Challenges — Tampa, FL

Est. 2018 — Dallas, Texas

It Started In A Dorm Room

Freshman year of college. One room, one idea, and no good reason to think it would work. Eight years later, people wear it to the gym and everywhere after.

Freshman year, and a bad idea that stuck

Connfi started in 2018, in a college dorm room in Dallas, Texas. Freshman year. The kind of setup where your desk is also your workspace, your storage, and occasionally your dinner table — and where nobody is checking whether your idea is realistic, because nobody is checking at all.

There was no plan that survived contact with reality. There was a belief that pushing through — the workout you didn't feel like, the work nobody claps for, the version of yourself you keep promising to become — is the thing that actually compounds. Everything else is merchandise. That belief is still the whole company.

The name is the thesis: confidence you build, not confidence you're born with. It gets made in reps. It gets made in the unglamorous middle of a program when nothing is visibly working yet. You can't buy it, and we're not going to pretend a t-shirt gives it to you. What a good piece of apparel does is get out of the way while you go earn it.

What eight years actually looked like

2018

The dorm room

Founded freshman year in Dallas, Texas. First runs were small, self-funded, and sold mostly to people who already knew us by name.

Since

The long middle

Years of small drops, slow lessons, and figuring out what we actually stood for. Most of the work nobody sees is here.

Now

Tampa, and the Club

Based in Tampa, FL. Limited drops, free training guides, and a growing group of people who train with us.

We've been blessed to make an impact

That sentence is not a marketing line, and we don't take it lightly. A brand that started as a freshman's side project has ended up on people during the workouts that changed something for them — first gym visit, first pull-up, the comeback after the injury, the year they finally stopped quitting in February.

We didn't do that. They did. We just made the shirt they were wearing. But getting to be a small part of that many people's hard days is a privilege, and it's the reason the standard on the product keeps going up instead of down.

Who actually makes your clothes

Most brands are vague here, because the honest answer is a factory they've never visited and a broker they've never met. Ours is different, and it's the part of this story we're proudest of.

Our Manufacturer

Lighthouse Point

Every Connfi piece is made by Lighthouse Point — owned and run by one of my best friends from growing up. Same neighborhood, same years, decades of history before there was ever a business between us.

There's a version of this company where we chase the cheapest quote every season and the product quietly gets worse. We're not running that version. When the person making your shirt is someone you grew up with, quality stops being a spec sheet and starts being personal — for both of us.

It also means we can actually answer questions. If something's wrong with a piece, there's no chain of vendors to escalate through. There's a phone call.

What we make now

The current drop is deliberately small: a men's tee and a women's tank in Bella+Canvas triblend, printed in the USA. Triblend because it's noticeably softer and lighter than standard cotton, drapes closer to the body, and doesn't turn into a wet flag halfway through a session. Small because we'd rather sell out than sit on inventory we don't believe in.

When it's gone, it's gone. The next one will be better.

Where it goes from here

More pieces, still slowly. More free training content, because the guides have brought in more people than any ad we've ever run. And the same standard we started with in that dorm room: if we wouldn't wear it every day, we don't sell it.
